Wrath of the War God
Lavinia, Goddess of Law and Order
Domain. Life, War
Origins. Lavinia is the daughter of Anders and Setha, though seemingly inherited nothing from her father. From the beginning, Lavinia was obsessed with order and organization, and saw the first mortal laws be written. Seeing this as the pinnacle of organization, that even the unpredictable mortals could be taught order, Lavinia took it upon herself to assist and influence future laws and codes. After overseeing these laws, she decided to test her own skill at bringing order from chaos by traveling to the eternal battleground of the Primordials: the Elemental Chaos. There, she spoke a single command to the plane itself: ‘Be ordered.’ This reverberated throughout the First Plane, and shattered its foundations. The unstable plane, seeking to both keep its chaotic nature yet follow the Divine Command of Lavinia fractured. The ‘core’ of the Elemental Chaos remained, but subplanes came into being on the outer edge of the Chaos, like bubble against the water’s surface. Each of these smaller planes was that of one element or quasielement: the Elemental Plane of Fire, the Quasielemental Plane of Ice, and so on. The primordials were at first angered by the intervention of a lesser being against their home, but quickly found the advantage that Lavinia had brought: each Primordial now had its own plane, and the eternal beings no longer needed to war against each other in the Chaos. Lavinia, for her part, was both exhausted and satisfied with her work, and returned to the Material to oversee Lawwork there.
